Grove Park, Asheville, NC

A historical neighborhood of high-end traditional homes built in the early 20th century.

About Grove Park

The Grove Park neighborhood is home to the historic Omni Grove Park Inn, Kimberly Avenue, and a custom Donald Ross golf course.

With the backdrop of Sunset Mountain, Grove Park is one of Asheville’s finest neighborhoods. Built by E.W. Grove, an entrepreneur who founded the Paris Medicine Company, famous for Grove’s Tasteless Chill Tonic. The Grove Park neighborhood features homes built in the 1920s, with architecture styles that range from Tudor, to Bungalow, to Colonial Revival.

Most homes in the area have been restored over time, and owned by many doctors, lawyers, business executives, and other professionals. The median age demographic is in the mid 50s.

The community is one of the most active in Asheville, with frequent walkers, joggers, and day-drivers. Neighbors are friendly and won’t hesitate to say hello as you pass by.

One of the busiest days of the year in the Grove Park neighborhood is Halloween. Trick-or-Treaters flock the sidewalks of Kimberly Avenue to get what Asheville folks call “the best candy in town”.

If you plan on moving to the Grove Park area, make sure you buy the best candy for Halloween.

In 2013, the Grove Park Sunset Mountain Neighborhood Association (GPSMNA) announced restoration plans for three historic parks that are integral to the neighborhood (E. W. Grove Park, Sunset Parkway and the Griffing Blvd. Rose Gardens).

The community continues to actively develop and maintain the area, allowing it to stay one of Asheville’s most desired neighborhoods.
