About Montford Historic District
Montford is considered a nationally registered historic district.
It’s home to some of the highest property values in the Asheville-metropolitan area, with residences built between the years 1890-1920.
Architecture varies in Montford, with many Victorian, Neo-Classical, Arts and Crafts, and Colonial Revival styles. The homes in the area are private residences and not open to the public. To get a peek inside, you can take their annual holiday tour of homes.
Located just North of downtown Asheville, within walking distance, Montford is the perfect neighborhood for families and older couples.
It’s proximity to the city, Merrimon Ave, and other prime locations makes it one of the most convenient locations in the Asheville region.
It’s also down the road from the University of North Carolina -Asheville and is a popular destination for college students. It also features its own “frat row”. But don’t worry, rarely does the party scene get rowdy.
The Montford historic district is located off Montford Ave. Bounded by I-240, I-26 and Broadway Ave.
